On the 20th September 2013 between 1700-2100 the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland will open its doors for Culture Night to celebrate all things audio and radio.
For one night only – the ground floor of the BAI will be transformed into a ‘pop-up’ museum filled with classic radio memorabilia as the BAI plays host the the Hurdy Gurdy Museum of Vintage Radio from Howth. Pat Herbert, the curator of the Hurdy Gurdy Museum will display radio sets dating back to the turn of the 20th century.
Together with his team of dedicated radio lovers, Pat will share with you some of the magic and nostalgia of these pieces, from radio sets inspired by the French resistance in WWII to the first FM set in Ireland.
This is a free non-ticketed event – taking place in the ground floor of the BAI Building on 2-5 Warrington Place, Dublin between 1700-2100.
